Jerome Alexander Magic Minerals

I recently received the "Jerome Alexander Magic Minerals" compact which has been dubbed as the "Instagram filter for your face". It is a mineral infused powder which contains foundations, correctors and concealer and is designed to cover blemishes, age spots and uneven skin tone.
It contains unique colour correctors which are included to hide imperfections.
The pink is to brighten pale, dull skin, the Mint is for blemishes and marks, the lavender is designed to camouflage yellow skin complexions and the Yellow is to cover discolourations under the eyes.
At first I was really excited to try it - I mean who wouldn't want a "valencia" filter in a compact right? But I'm afraid it didn't really live up to all of the amazing expectations that I had.
Yes it was a lovely powder and the colours were a cute addition which worked a little, but it just didn't cover all of the marks on my face. To me it felt more like a finishing powder than something I could use as an entire foundation.
I do have a requirement for more concealer than most in my foundation which could be why it didn't work for me, but as an obsessive user of the Bare Minerals powder foundation, I just felt that this one didn't really live up to it. To be fair, this product is only £9.99 so to expect it to compare to a much more expensive product is unfair of me. As far as value for money goes, this one is definitely cheap at the price and If your skin is quite clear with just a little marking then perhaps it would be way more suited to you but for me personally it just wasn't ideal.
I hate to write a negative review but it is my duty as a blogger to be truthful and report on my own personal findings with a product. Perhaps you guys have tried the product and found it to be better so I would love to hear from you?  The Magic Minerals compact can be purchased at if you would like to try it for yourself and definitely let me know how it works for you.

Debenhams Beauty Hall Relaunch

Yesterday evening I attended the Press launch of the newly revamped beauty hall in Debenhams in Derry/Londonderry. I take my hat off to the team behind the refurbishment as they have turned a regular shopping area into a real beauty experience.
The organisers put on a wonderful spread for us in the line of cupcakes and champagne before directing us to the beauty hall itself for some in-depth tutorials with some of the leading brands in the beauty industries. At Benefit we were shown their state of the art new beauty room where their highly qualified technicians are performing miracles with body hair (yes thats really how it sounded) swiftly followed by a demonstration of the Brow-Zing eyebrow palette (to which I am ADDICTED) and the new BB concealer called Patrol which I cannot wait to try out for myself.
At Urban Decay we were greeted in a bizarre fashion by one of the consultants smearing the entire "Naked Flushed" palette on our arms (as seen in the pic below). I wondered was this some kind of tribal "Press" stamp that we were receiving, when the lady kindly sprayed the Make Up Setting Spray on top. For the rest of the Urban Decay demonstration, which consisted of a tutorial with the new Naked "Smokey" palette, the "stamp" remained intact... in fact when the consultant finally told us at the end to try rubbing it off we soon got the gist. It wouldn't budge! In other words, their make up setting spray is damned good and well worth the investment.
The final stage of our journey was Clinique where we got a demonstration of the "Clarisonic" vibrating cleansing brush which exfoliates and deeply cleanses the skin. We also got a sneak peek (Shhhhh!) of the new product coming out soon - Sculpt Wear which is a product and a separate head for the Clarisonic to help with contouring and defining your face! Keep an eye out for it!
We were absolutely spoiled by each brand with goody bag after goody bag containing the latest products, vouchers and samples. It felt like Christmas morning when I opened each bag and saw the wonderful pieces inside.
The event was a lovely opportunity to finally meet some of the faces of the blogging world with whom I have been in touch with online for years but have never actually met face to face. I also got the chance to catch up with current friends and make some lovely new ones! A great social event and an even better beauty one!
I would like to say a huge thank you to all of the team at Debenhams, Foyleside and ASG PR for asking me to be a part of such an amazing event and I cannot wait to go back for some treatments and products!

Clarins Daily Energiser Wake Up Booster

This was the second Clarins product that I was sent by The Loop in Dublin & Cork airport and although I didn't love it as much as the After Sun Shimmer Oil (which I reviewed HERE), I would definitely recommend it for people who want to bring a little life to their skin.
My own skin is excessively dry in areas so I found that I need something a little more rich, but I still loved the way that it added vibrancy to my face before I then applied my own heavier moisturiser on top. When I don't really gel with a product, I always give it to a few of my friends to try out to get completely honest review. If they have the same troubles as me then I like to report it accordingly but this time my friends were highly impressed.
They said that it made their skin really feel ready for the day when they used it each morning and they even said that they didn't have to use moisturiser over the top which led me to believe that my own skin was just a little too far gone with the dryness for it to take full effect.
If you do feel like you would like a little wake up call for your skin then I would definitely recommend trying this but just ensure that you have a moisturiser suited to your skin type to coincide with the product!
All Clarins products are available at and are guaranteed to be at least 15% cheaper than in pharmacies or high street stores so be sure to check out their website if you are travelling through Dublin or Cork airport anytime soon! Do let me know if you try this product for yourself as I would be really interested to hear your results.

Clarins After Sun Shimmer Oil

Before I went on holidays I was sent this Clarins After Sun Shimmer Oil thanks to The Loop in Dublin & Cork Airport. It was the perfect timing for me as I tan quite easily in the sun but as my skin goes very dry very quickly, it can often look a bit dull. I love nothing more than having a glow to my skin and this shimmer oil was absolutely perfect for that!
You simply pour a little onto your hand (or on a mitt if you prefer) and rub it evenly on to your skin. It gives it a lovely soft glimmer which is highlighted when the sun shines on you or when you are under a bright light.
It doesn't look to fake or make your skin look oily which I was quite worried about initially. It just gives it the perfect summer glow, ideal for those nights out on holidays or even to add on top of a fake tan back home! Either way you will look healthy, glowing and glittery!
What more could a girl ask for?
If you wish to purchase this for yourself you can check out The Loop online at to use their click and collect process or pick up for yourself if you are passing through Dublin or Cork airport anytime soon! Just remember the loop are always at least 15% cheaper than down town so you are always guaranteed a bargain!
Happy Holidays!

RENU 28 Skin Revitalising Gel

I don't know about you guys but when it comes to beauty products and things that I use on my skin, I am always a little skeptical about trying new things or brands that I haven't heard of. When I was approached to review the Renu 28 Skin revitalising gel, I had no idea what to expect. I had never heard of Renu 28 nor the values that the brand held but I was more than intrigued when I heard that it contained only four ingredients and used salt water as a basic concept for skin renewal.
I hate putting things loaded with chemicals anywhere near my face so I was relieved when I read that it was all natural.
In order to give the product a true review, I used it for just over 4 weeks. At first, I didn't like the feel of the product at all... it felt a little like water to me. Not thick and creamy like a moisturiser but more like a watery gel. I was almost about to give up in the first week or so as I didn't notice any major results on my skin, but with perseverance I continued beyond the two week mark and I finally started to see some real results. My skin had a glow that I had never seen before. I suffer from breakouts quite regularly on my skin so it was amazing to see it with a little glow and a healthy look.
I know that bloggers always review products and say they are amazing - so I am not going to feed you with any lies and say that this product will transform your face - it won't. But it will make your skin feel softer, look healthier and will even make your make up sit a little better on your face.
I used it in the lead up to my holiday in Tenerife and I felt it was the perfect prep for my skin before exposing it to the sun!
I received my Renu 28 thanks to the lovely Kathryn McBrearty who can be contacted via Facebook on her page Rejuvious which you can see HERE, or if you have any other questions about my experience you can contact me on Facebook as I would be happy to help.

Tenerife Sea

FullSizeRender 16

This week I have been spending the ultimate week of relaxation, lying by the pool, overlooking a view of the Tenerife sea. It has been amazing, after the most hectic year, both emotionally and creatively, to just switch off, ditch the regime and completely chill out with my Boyfriend and my family. We have a stunning villa in the hills with the most amazing view over Costa Adeje and I could quite happily stay here forever soaking up the Canarian Sunshine.
I have been avoiding make up and glamour like the plague, as to be quite frank, I just fancied some downtime without the pressure of getting dolled up every night - so on one of the few occasions that I did, I decided to photograph what I wore for you all!
This outfit was very simple and comfortable but for me it was the perfect colour and style for a relaxed holiday in the sun. My skirt is from Primark and the little cropped T-shirt is from Topshop. I added some rose gold jewellery to include some sparkle and kept my hair in my natural curls as I couldn't cope with the heat of hair dryers and straightening irons.
I opted for flat sandals as I rarely wear heels on hols but I think these River Island diamante flats were perfect for the relaxed vibe I was aiming for!

Chrissy's Knee Socks

Just before I left for holidays, I received the funkiest package from Chrissy's Knee High Socks with a variety of multi-coloured knee socks in it. As I definitely wouldn't be wearing them in Tenerife, I decided to try them all on before I left and start planning what I will wear them with when I get home. They may not work well for sunshine in the Canary Islands but they are definitely very appropriate for our "Summer" weather in Ireland.
The website offers knee socks in every colour and pattern that you can think of and I chose these 5 pairs after very difficult consideration.
They would be ideal for funking up an outfit or adding a special touch to a costume/hen party look. Have a look at the colours that I chose below or check out the website ( to pick out your own quirky colours! They are extremely reasonable in price, very quick with deliveries and a fun, fashionable way to make a statement with your look.

A Very Special Wedding

Last Friday my lovely friend Noreen married her fiancĂ© Connor in one of the most beautiful weddings I have been too. The excitement had been building for her big day since they announced their engagement last year and I just couldn't wait to see how all of her hard work and planning paid off! Everything was amazing, from the venue to the flowers and the cake to the meal, it was all perfection! The bride and groom were simply stunning and Noreen looked incredible in her lace detailed dress.
I wish them a lifetime of happiness and all the luck in the world for their new adventure into married life and I would love to thank them both for inviting myself and my boyfriend to be a part of their very special day.
For the wedding, I decided to wear one of my own designs from my "Jewelled Safari" collection. It was such a proud moment for me to debut my own design at such a stunning wedding and I was overwhelmed with the amazing feedback from all of the guests.
I matched the dress with a studded belt from Identity Boutique, Earrings from the Anna Dello Russo for H&M collection and a pair of jewelled Jimmy Choo heels. I also added some bling with some oversized jewelled rings and a silver Louis Vuitton "limelight" clutch bag.
Also, for the day, I decided to splash out and have my nails done by Izabela at the wonderful Labella Beauty in Belfast thanks to a recommendation by my friend Tara who gets hers done in there every few weeks. I just loved the bling and they worked perfectly with my dress.
Below I have some outfit detail shots, some snaps of the stunning bride, her new Husband and a few group shots from the wedding!
I hope you like my dress and enjoy a sneak peek into thee wedding of the year!
