Contouring Tutorial

After posting a few pictures of my makeup contouring on Snapchat, many of you sent me messages asking for a tutorial video on how to do it.
Whilst I don't claim to be an MUA or in any way perfect at applying makeup, this method really works for me and I have made it as simple as possible in this step by step tutorial for you guys to do it at home!
Here is a list of what I did and step by step guidelines with products if you need any extra help.
Don't be afraid to adapt the steps to products of your own choice!

Step 1
Apply your own foundation lightly all over your face
(I used Bare Minerals Compact Powder colour (R230) and applied with Bare Minerals buffing brush)

Step 2
Apply the lightest colour of concealer in a semi-circle above and between your eyebrows and down the centre of your nose in a line
(I used the Mac flat foundation brush no.190 and the Crown Brush Contouring Palette)

Step 3
Apply the lightest colour concealer in semi circles directly under your eyes, under your nose as far as your lip and across the centre of your chin.
(Products same as before)

Step 4
With the darkest colour concealer, draw two lines directly under your cheekbones in whichever shape you wish to define them.
(Products same as before)

Step 5
Draw two lines with the darkest colour concealer straight down either side of your nose, the starting from the top centre of your forehead, make five circles of dark concealer along your hairline.
(Products same as before)

Step 6
Lightly blend your makeup in circular motions
(I used the Mac Duo Fibre Face Brush no.187sh)

Step 7
For blending smaller areas like the bridge of your nose, use a smaller blending brush
(For this I used the Mac Short Duo Fibre Brush no.130)

Step 8
To create a flawless finish I buffed my entire face using my Bare Minerals buffing brush

Step 9
I completed the look by adding some bronzer for extra definition just under my cheekbones.
(For this I used Mac Bronzer (Tantone) and applied it using the Powder & Pout contouring brush)

I hope this is helpful and you can follow me on snapchat (sequincinders) for more fun updates!
If you have any  other ideas for tutorials let me know!

Craft Awards Derry

270215dk094

A few weeks ago, I had the absolute pleasure of winning the "Best Student" award at the Craft Awards, Derry, for my printed dress designs.
When I found out that I was shortlisted, I was thrilled and the prospect of having my designs on display in the exhibition leading up to the show was amazing. That in itself was an incredible opportunity so when I found out that I was selected as the winner, I just couldn't believe it.
I was presented with my beautiful, hand crafted prize by the Principal of the North West Regional College, where I am currently studying and this made it very personal and extra rewarding for me.
The event itself took place in the beautiful ballroom at the Guildhall in Derry/Londonderry and we were treated to a lovely three course meal before the innovative knitwear show began.
The designs on display were so unique and gave an entirely new outlook to such a traditional method of garment creation - I have selected a few of my favourites below including the unbelievable cardigan in the last image created by Orla Savage - I just have to have!
Thank you to everyone who supported me in the run up to this competition, to all at Derry City Council and the Craft Awards team for selecting me as their winner and to my beautiful model from Style Academy for making my dress look even more stunning! It was an amazing night and I so look forward to launching the rest of my collection in the coming months!

Fashion Capital of the World

IMG_0878

Paris is absolutely a city of dreams, of romance and of style. It was an unbelievable experience for me to go shopping in one of the fashion capitals of the world and I literally fell in love with every store from Chanel to Abercrombie & Fitch and Louis Vuitton to Zara - I've always loved these brands but there was something about the Parisian stores that really made them come to life.
I only had to look in the windows to be swept off my feet and transported to absolute fashion heaven. From the affordable to the astronomical, I fell in love with every aspect of Parisian couture, it was a true fashion bloggers haven.
After a morning of perusing the incredible stores, my boyfriend and I decided to take a stroll along the left bank and soak in the atmosphere of Paris for the very last time. We sat at the waters edge and enjoyed the beautiful sunshine before solemnly packing our cases and checking out of our newly beloved city.
I cannot thank my boyfriend enough for this incredible experience! We had the trip of a lifetime and I couldn't imagine sharing it with anyone else. I do hope that all of you get to experience Paris at some point in your lives and if you need any tips or tricks, do not hesitate to contact me <3

Exploring Paris

IMG_0761

Time passes so quickly and I cannot believe it has been two weeks since my boyfriend and I strolled the streets of Paris with not a worry in the world...
I fell in love with this city when I was there and feel like I was born with Paris in my veins.
Everything from our incredible Eiffel Tower view at the Pullman Hotel to the quaint little coffee shops drew me in... I felt at home in this city that is so far detached from my true home...
a part of me will always belong to Paris.
Exploring a city of such beauty was totally captivating - around each new corner there was something even more beautiful than the one before.
The cold weather didn't stop me from enjoying every detail, I just wrapped up in my faux fur coat from River Island, a floppy hat from Topshop and a Louis Vuitton scarf to keep me warm and cosy in the bitter cold air.
I discovered Flea Markets, the Moulin Rouge, the Sacre Coeur and of course had time to stop for a little spot of Champagne on the Champs Elysee.
Truly a trip made in heaven and I am extremely grateful to my wonderful Boyfriend for treating me to this amazing experience!
