I've been to a lot of events in my blogging career, some extremely extravagant and some incredibly luxurious, but I have to say, the relaunch of McElhinneys Bridal Rooms was up there with the best. If you had have told me that such a beautiful, magical event would happen right here in my home county of Donegal, I would have been skeptical but I was very pleasantly surprised.
We began our evening with a beautiful drinks reception at the Villa Rose hotel where McElhinneys had arranged for us to stay that evening. (I will tell you all about my stunning experience in the hotel and spa in my next post.)
We then made our way to the McEhinneys store where we were greeted with a Champagne reception and got to meet some of the amazing staff at the store, including the owner, Mr John McElhinney.
As myself and the other bloggers & journalists were mingling, we turned around to find a fleet of dapper men lined on the stairs waiting to escort us to the Bridal rooms.
When we were gathered at the stairs beneath the Bridal rooms, everything was in complete darkness, when a little girl dressed as a mythical fairy came along to lead the way. We followed her through the twinkling entrance, only to discover another Fairy waiting for us in the main bridal showroom. As the lights came up we received our introduction from Sandra, the leading lady in the Bridal rooms who also gave us the most incredible goody bags and invited us to have a look around the showroom and individual consultation rooms.
Each of the consultation rooms had a theme - Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter and each one had their own stunning model made up to suit the theme. The decor and attention to detail in each room was second to none with a themed gift for each of us in every room. In the Spring room we received a little packet of seeds to plant, in Summer we got a glass of pink lemonade, Autumn offered a lovely toffee apple and Winter was a package of hot chocolate and marshmallows.
The dresses were absolutely incredible and I would have loved to be let loose in there to try some of them on. The intricate detail of the lacing and designs on the dresses were simply stunning and I honestly felt sorry for any bride who had to choose between these beautiful pieces and I wanted them all.
There was a mixologist on hand to provide us with some very tasty cocktails, my favourite being the McElhinneys signature drink which was a blend of Cherry liquor & yoghurt floating on a base of champagne. It was absolutely gorgeous but being the klutz that I am, I had to stand in one spot whilst drinking it for fear of leaving a pink stain down the side of one of the dresses.
The decor throughout the entire venue was stunning! Designed by the talented team at Lily Anabella, they based it on a magical woodland theme and each room gave you a sense of being lost in a fairytale. I felt like a little girl reading Alice in Wonderland for the first time and I think that magic and personal feel is something that every lady who is getting married should feel. The personal touches and fine detail are a part of McElhinneys point of difference. They make everyone who crosses their door feel unique and special.
The most fun part of the evening was meeting and catching up with some fellow bloggers. Some of them whom I had met previously and others that I felt like I knew from following each other on social media. We had a great night of girly fun and giggles which did not end when the event was over. The catch ups continued well into the night in the beautiful Villa Rose bar and I really enjoyed every minute of it.
As if we hadn't been spoiled enough throughout the evening, we were all gifted an incredible goody bag filled with the most gorgeous gifts from jewellery by Newbridge Silver and Coco88 to beauty products from L'Occitane, Vita Liberata and Lancome and that doesn't even include the goody bags that were on our beds in the Villa Rose but more of that in my next post.
I would like to say a huge thank you to Sandra, Carina and the team for inviting me to be a part of such a special occasion! You guys should be very proud of yourselves and your team and I truly look forward to working with you all again in the future!
