The Jewelled Leopard

As soon as I saw this dress in River Island, I fell in love with it. My obsession with leopard print is still going strong and I loved this variation. The first thing that I thought when I saw it was that it was perfect for my holiday to Marbella and so I wore it on one of my first evenings there.
I'm not usually a fan of items with contrasting backs but with this one, I felt that the plain black just worked.
I love the blue jewelled detail at the top of the dress and I thought that this statement necklace from Primark (£8 believe it or not!!!) was the perfect match to compliment the colours in the outfit.
I added an ear cuff to give the entire look more of a tribal feel!

Juice Plus - Clare's Story

By now, I'm guessing that most of you have heard of Juice Plus+, the dietary supplement that is sweeping the nation.
I have heard some amazing reports and I have heard some people say its a "fad", but never being one to make a judgement until I have done my own research, I always witheld my opinion.
When a friend of mine, Clare O'Brien, approached me about the product, I wasn't sure. I have a tendency  to avoid sales people but Clare wasn't like that at all. She wanted to discuss the product and get my opinion on how it works for me.
Clare is a true inspiration, she is in her early 20's and has been diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. Her strength and courage in talking about her diagnosis really impressed me so I was keen to hear her story about Juice Plus+ and how it helped her.
Obviously to receive the news that you have this illness at such a young age had negative effects on, not only Clare's health, but her state of mind and her sleeping pattern. She was often lying awake for nights on end not able to close her eyes. She started Juice Plus+ as a last resort, she herself a little skeptical… and on the 5th day of taking the tablets, she had her first full nights sleep.
I asked her about the misconceptions that I have heard people voice about the program.
- Do they make you lose weight?
"They are a weight loss aid, not a weight loss miracle" she replied, "they help you improve the health of your body therefore encouraging healthy eating and exercising".
- Can I stop eating fruit and veg if I am taking them?
"No not at all! They are a supplement not a replacement! You must take them alongside a healthy diet"
- Are they a cure for illness?
"No they are not a cure but their benefits to your health and mind create a body that has a better immune system and therefore helps you to ward off colds, flu's and more"
Clare was 100% honest with me, she told me about times that she felt down and how she felt that taking Juice Plus+ had improved her state of mind and energy levels, she also told me it improved the thickness of her hair which she had lost through medication. She did, however, tell me that it may not work for me. I may not see the extent of the effects that she had but she simply wanted another opinion. She wasn't pushing for hard sales, just promoting a product that she was passionate about because it had been so beneficial to her.
Clare has kindly supplied me with a months trial of Juice Plus+ so I will be keeping regular diaries about how or in fact IF it works for me! If you have any questions about the product you can contact me via FaceBook ( or Twitter (@sequincinderela). You can also contact Clare directly on her personal facebook where she will be more than happy to help or advise you -

ALS Ice Bucket Challenge

So I finally got nominated for the ALS ice bucket challenge. At first I thought it was just another facebook fad, something that people were jumping on the badwagon with and forgetting the true message behind it, but then I was introduced to the video about Pete Frates, the inspiration behind it all and I was incredibly moved and inspired. If he, as a long term sufferer of ALS can dump a bucket of ice water over his head, then so can I and I was sure to make my donation to the cause also.
(watch the video that inspired me here -
Instead of nominating local people, I chose to nominate Irish bloggers and personalities that have a voice. People who have a following that can spread the word and get the message out there - Suzanne Jackson from, Aoibhe Devlin from, Cathy O Connor - TV Fashion Stylist and Ashleigh Coyle - Big Brother runner up!
I know our newsfeeds have become over run with these challenges and people are getting sick of watching everyone compete to get the most creative video but please, in all the fun of the videos, do not forget the true meaning behind the challenge and make your donation!
Visit to make your donation now!

Tuesday, August 19, 2014 - Look Two

This is the second look that I chose thanks to (see the first one HERE) and I absolutely fell in love with this dress the second I saw it. The neon green colour screamed "summer holidays" to me and immediately I imagined myself wearing it in Spain, albeit I had planned to be a little more tan when I wore it - damned Irish skin :)
I chose the cream perspex necklace to compliment the dress and I think it works so well to bring out the lace detail at the bottom of the dress.
Because the dress and necklace were such statement pieces on their own, I kept the rest of the accessories to a minimum, opting for nude and glitter "flatform" sandals from Zara, Prada "baroque" sunglasses and a Louis Vuitton handbag.
This look is perfect for a casual day in the sun or a night on the tiles. It can be dressed down with flats or glammed up with a pair of skyscraper heels.
If you want to recreate this look for yourself, the dress can be purchased HERE and the necklace HERE. If you do purchase the items, I would love to see how you style them so please post them on my Facebook (, Twitter (@sequincinderela) or tag me on instagram - thesequincinderella.

Dream Dots

We girls are in a very lucky position in which make up can mask or disguise almost any skin problem, but sometimes that just isn't enough. If, like me, you are still prone to the odd breakout, even in your mid twenties then you will know how irritating this can be. And don't they always appear with a vengeance when you have a big event to go to?
Thankfully there are many products out there which can help and Dream Dots, a new design by an Irish company, are the latest and most direct way of banishing the breakout over night.
When I received the product, I was having a particularly good episode with my skin except for one persistent area on my forehead so I thought it would be a good place to start with my review.
I placed the Dream Dot patch on the area just before I went to bed, I left it on over night and in the morning the redness had definitely been reduced. Although I have spared you the really detailed pics (incase you are having your dinner whilst reading this) I did notice a definite improvement. I tried a new patch the following night just to be sure and the next day the spot was more or less invisible.
This product is definitely effective and worth checking out for yourself if you get mild acne breakouts, however as its such a site specific product it might not be ideal if you have a large number of spots over a bigger area as it would take you a long time to cover each one.
I found it the ideal solution for my break outs and would definitely recommend that you give it a go if you are in a similar situation.

Wednesday, August 13, 2014 - Look One

As most of you will know from reading my blog, I love to support Irish companies and designers so I was delighted to have been contacted by to showcase some of their clothing and accessories.
The choice on their website is amazing with many brands and styles available, so I had a lot of fun choosing my different looks. The first that I went for was this stunning floral multiway jumpsuit. The straps can be tied in any way that you wish which allows a variety of looks with just one item of clothing. I also chose these beautiful jewelled earrings to match the look. They are eye-catching yet so light that you would hardly notice you are wearing them.
I decided to wear this look for the first night of my holidays in Marbella, Spain as the floral print has such a summery feel to it. I don't usually wear trousers in the sun but the material is so light and floaty that I remained perfectly cool all evening.
If you would like to recreate this look for yourself, the jumpsuit can be purchased HERE and the earrings HERE. Stay tuned to see my next two outfit choices from and how I have chosen to style them.
Happy Shopping!

Invisalign with David McConville - Part 1

As some of you may have seen on my social media sites, I have recently begun my "Invisalign" brace journey with David McConville Orthodontics.
When I was about 15 years of age I had braces fitted to my teeth and like any teenager, when I finished my treatment, I stopped wearing my retainer. My teeth moved out of the perfect position that they had been in and in recent years this really irritated me. Not necessarily how they looked, as on first glance, the appearance of my teeth seemed ideal, but something about them just wasn't right. The alignment was all wrong, therefore throwing my bite out of place.
When I was contacted by David McConville, I saw this as the perfect opportunity to fix this problem. I wasn't quite sure what the Invisalign process involved but after one consultation and a lot of help from David himself I became a bit of an expert and couldn't wait to start my treatment.
This video was made after my first appointment at the practice in Donegal town. I had just had impressions taken of my teeth and everything had been sent off to the lab so that my own personalised Invisalign braces could be made.
Check out the video and if you have any questions about the product, please do not hesitate to ask!
David McConville has practices in both Donegal Town and Sligo and offers your initial consultation for FREE, so if you are considering the invisalign process for yourself then it would definitely be worth going along and finding out how it may benefit you.
I will be keeping you up to date throughout my entire process so you can follow my journey with Invisalign.

Ladies (and Gents who are interested) I may just have found your new miracle product.
Most of us love to have long luscious lashes, be it by applying fake ones or messing about with eyelash curlers and lotions and potions but generally, we find it difficult to achieve a natural looking finish.
Thanks to a fabulous company called Magnifibres, I have found the solution.
Magnifibres can add a whopping 5mm to your own natural lashes, a concept that I struggled to get my head around until I actually tried it for myself and if you don't believe me then you just have to look at my before and after pictures to see the difference that they make.
All you have to do is apply your own mascara (any brand) as usual and whilst it is still wet you apply the Magnifibres in the same way. It appears like a white fluff on your eyelashes and once you have them totally covered you apply a final coat of your own mascara. The mascara brand that I used in this post was Rimmel - ScandalEyes.
The effects are absolutely incredible and it is definitely a product that I would highly recommend to any girl who, like myself, has a phobia of applying false lashes themselves.
Magnifibres are currently available to buy online at and are priced at £21 stg. Trust me, your make up routine will be totally transformed and you will never feel the same about your standard mascara again! Definitely worth a try!
