OCC - Conscience Clear Tanning Liquid

Image 4

Some of you may remember my post about OCC Conscience Clear Spray tan last year (seen HERE). I absolutely loved it, not only the colour and lack of odour but the fact that it was produced by a local company. I was delighted to hear that there is now a liquid version of the tan that you can purchase and apply at home & I was excited to receive a trial pack to experiment with myself.
OCC is a range developed by Conor and Ronan at RoCo Hair, Derry/Londonderry. They own one of the funkiest hair salons in the area and with this range of beauty and hair products, their business is going from strength to strength. I really love to support local but with these products there is the added bonus that they are all of a high quality and totally organic.
When I tried this tan at home, I was pleased to find out that, like the spray tan, there was no strong smell and it was very easy to apply with the OCC mitt that they provided.
I used the "dark" colour and I was a little apprehensive that I may be too dark but the colour developed so evenly and naturally that I was really happy with the end result. I didn't feel like I was wearing false tan at all, it was more like coming home from an exotic holiday with a natural glow.
If, like me, you worry about putting harsh chemicals onto your skin or the "oompa loompa" effect that some tans leave you with then this tan might just be the solution for you. If you want any more info then check out RoCo's facebook (https://www.facebook.com/rocohair) or call into the salon on the Strand Road in Derry/Londonderry and one of their lovely staff will be happy to help!

Glamorous by LJ for Local Women

Local Women Shoot

A few weeks ago I did a photoshoot with a fab new beauty salon in Derry/Londonderry called "Glamorous by LJ" which appeared in "Local Women" Magazine.
Laura-Jane, Proprietor of the salon, is one talented lady and I was delighted with the results of the make-up that she applied. When she came at me with blue eye shadow, I almost had a heart attack but when I saw the end result I couldn't believe how funky she made it look. When matched with my quirky hairstyle by Micky @ RoCo Hairdressing and the trendy neon styling, I absolutely loved the entire look.
"Glamorous by LJ" is located at 16 Strand Rd, Derry/Londonderry and is definitely worth a look! Her prices are amazing with spray tans and gel nail polishes from as little at £10. It is the ideal place to get yourself beach ready this Summer and all at extremely affordable prices!
Check out their facebook page for further details - https://www.facebook.com/Glamorouslj

Miss Ireland 2014

IMG_2406

On Saturday evening, I had the pleasure of attending the Miss Ireland 2014 competition at the Ballsbridge Hotel in Dublin.
As you may remember, I was a judge for the Miss Derry and Miss Tyrone competitions (seen HERE) in which we crowned Aisling Dougan Cleary as Miss Tyrone and Dearbhla Walsh as Miss Derry. We also selected Roisin McDevitt as our runner up and she later went on to get selected as Miss Fermanagh.  I was delighted to have the opportunity to go along to the grand final and support our girls. It was a fantastic night and they really did us and their counties proud. Unfortunately they didn't place on the night but their beauty, grace and elegance shone through 'til the end.
The beautiful Miss Buck Whaleys - Jessica Hayes was the lucky winner to be crowned Miss Ireland 2014 and it was so exciting to see her embark on an incredible journey as a representative of her Country.
It was amazing to meet some fab Irish celebs on the night such as previous Miss Irelands, Radio Presenters, Models, TV presenters etc. so of course I had to sneak in a few selfies.
My outfit for the night was from Boudoir Boutique NI and consisted of a Vintage blue sequin dress with a lilac flower detail on the side. I matched it up with a Louis Vuitton "limelight" clutch handbag and diamante heels from River Island.
I also received an amazing spray tan for the event thanks to Vita Liberata and Lisa at Absolute Beauty on South William Street in Dublin. The colour was beautiful, so natural and even. I just loved it and would highly recommend Vita Liberata to any girl looking for a natural summer glow!
I would just like to say a huge congrats to Jessica Hayes - Miss Ireland 2014 - to our girls and to all of the finalists! Each girl was beautiful inside and out and I hope they don't give up! Keep trying to achieve your dreams! When one door closes, another door opens, just remember that!

George @ Asda

IMG_2299

One of my favourite Summer trends is "bold prints" - the more OTT the better - which is why I was delighted to have been sent this funky jumpsuit from George @ Asda
I was set a challenge to style the outfit for the perfect sunny day.
As the print really spoke for itself, I didn't want to add any accessories to the suit that would overkill the style so I decided that a big floppy sun hat, sunglasses and a pair of killer platforms were all that the jumpsuit needed for a chic, summer style.
Jumpsuits are a fun and easy way to dress up or down and suit almost every body shape, I especially loved this style as it was loose fitting and comfortable as well as super stylish. It is also incredibly affordable, retailing at just £14 stg.
If you want to pick up one for yourself just check out the website HERE and you could be creating your very own ensemble, perfect for those long Summer evenings.

CaraDerm - As Nature Intended

IMG_2048

As a beauty blogger and someone who suffers from dry skin, I was absolutely delighted to have been sent samples of the "Caraderm" Seaweed products, thanks to Inish Pharmacy. This product had been featured on Dragons Den and had the added bonus of being made in Northern ireland, which, as always, really appealed to me. I love to support local.
I had always heard of the benefits of seaweed for the skin but had never seen a product designed specifically for this purpose. I was worried that it may feel or smell funny but I was very surprised with how pleasant the odour was and how nice it felt against my skin.
I was sent the "Seaweed Bath" which is an exfoliating pouch and the "Seaweed Soothing Lotion" which is designed for irritated, itchy skin.
To use the pouch, you have to first soak it in very hot water to rehydrate the seaweed then put it in your bath as normal and rub it on your skin to gently exfoliate and moisturise.
I then used the lotion on particularly dry areas of my skin such as my elbows and knees and I found it so soft and soothing. My skin felt so hydrated and eased after just one use and I had the added security of knowing that I was not using any harsh chemicals on my body.
If you are interested in trying out these products for yourself, or any other that Inish Pharmacy have to offer online, you can check out their website (http://www.inishpharmacy.com) and use the exclusive discount code -  CINDERELLA10 which is Valid until 31st July. This will entitle you to 10% off any purchase and it will definitely be worth it.

Walkshoes.ie

IMG_2237

As a product of the 80's and a 90's kid at heart, I cannot help but have a soft spot for Dr. Marten boots. I've always loved them, from the traditional black leather style to the funky new prints and patterns that they create each year.
I was delighted to have been sent this amazingly cool pair from Irish shoe company - walkshoes.ie. The  "1460 Beckett Skulls" style were right up my street and I absolutely love them. The soft print with skulls and flowers is so subtle yet incredibly striking and the grey colour is perfect for summer or winter wear.
I chose to match them with a very girly tutu dress but added a slouchy grey jumper to keep the funky boho vibe of the boots.
I love to support local businesses so it meant a lot to me to hear that Walk Shoes are an Irish company and even better than that, they offer 15% off to all first time customers on their website.
So if you fancy picking up a pair of the Beckett Skull Doc Martens then you can purchase your very own pair HERE or visit walkshoes.ie to see what else they have on offer!
Happy Shopping.
