2015 - Lets Dance

Image 8

Just before all of the crazy New Years Celebrations begin (or just after, for my readers all around the world), I wanted to take the opportunity to say a sincere thank you to every one of you for your support throughout 2014.
I have made no secret that this has not been the easiest year for me but as it is a New Year and a new beginning, I am not going to dwell on the sadness that has gone before us.
Aside from the struggles in my personal life, I have had some incredible achievements with my blog and my design career.
I won the RSVP/Cork Fashion Week blogger of the year, I designed fabric for one of the top Fashion Designers in Ireland, was chosen as a brand ambassador for the Loop in Dublin Airport, I have achieved straight distinctions in my fashion design course to date, had offers to show my first collection at numerous fashion weeks throughout Ireland and beyond in the new year, reached almost half a million views on my blog and continue to build my readership all over the world, every single day.
I cannot thank you all enough as I wouldn't still be writing the Sequin Cinderella if it wasn't for you guys! You mean the world to me and I sincerely hope that 2015 brings you everything that you wish for and more.
So in the true "fashion" of my blog - all soppyness aside, I have gathered some of my favourtie outfit looks for you from the past year. I hope to keep inspiring you and move onwards and upwards in 2015!
There are lots of exciting things to come!
Happy New Year

Christmas Wishes 2014

IMG_4679

I would like to take this opportunity to wish every one of you a very happy and healthy Christmas.
I hope it is and continues to be one that is very special for all.
For me this has been a really difficult one as it is the first year without my beloved Grandmother. For the first time, I now realise that beneath the exterior joy, Christmas can in fact be a very difficult time and for everyone of you that is experiencing sadness this year, my thoughts are with you all! I hope that your family and friends can give you the strength to get through it and find some joy in the season that brings smiles to so many.
Surrounded (and spoiled) by my family and my boyfriend, I have found that the true meaning of Christmas is in those that you love and those that love you and even though your loved ones may not be with you in person, you are forever surrounded by them and by their memories.

For the very cold festive occasion, I decided to wrap up warm in my new faux fur coat from River Island which I matched with a pair of leather culottes from Topshop and a simple black polo neck jumper. A touch of rose gold jewellery finished the look with just a little Christmas sparkle!

Loreal Christmas Cracker

IMG_4637

How cute is this little Christmas cracker that I received thanks to Loreal! The ideal Christmas gift for any girl who loves their locks!
The package consists of resurfacing shampoo and intense treatment cream which is perfect for hair that is feeling the effects of the harsh winter weather. Even though my hair is not on full display in these pictures, you can clearly see that it is gleaming after using the products! It was so shiny and easy to work with and the products left no surface residue whatsoever.
If you want to check out the products for yourself, why not visit their website - www.loreal.com or visit your local pharmacies or salons to pick up this little Christmas gift before it's too late!

Eyelash Extensions by Divine Eyes, White Smiles

IMG_4604

Last week I shared a picture of my amazing eyelash extensions thank to Divine Eyes, White Smiles and here they are, almost two weeks after application, still looking as good as new.
I absolutely love them and dread the thought of going back to my natural lashes.
My own lashes were always very full and long so I was wary of getting the extensions, number one, incase they damaged my own lashes and number two, incase I become addicted - and whilst my own lashes seem perfect underneath, I'm afraid number two has definitely come true!
The relief of not having to apply mascara every day is unreal… I never have much time in the morning getting ready so I can apply my foundation as normal and run out the door!
There isn't much upkeep with these extensions either, all you have to do is brush them every day with a little wand provided by Ciara from Divine Eyes. It's also really important not to keep your face under the shower for too long as excess heat can loosen them and cause them to fall out.
I have noticed a few falling out but that happens with the natural shedding of your own lashes so its barely noticeable. Most people get 4-6weeks out of their application so I will keep you all updated on mine but so far so good!
I got the most dramatic set available which were a full set of "mink" lashes but they also come in different lengths and thicknesses according to what you want yourself.
A full set is €55 and a half set is €35 but they are so worth it as I now feel glam, even when I have no make up on at all!
If you have any questions about them, feel free to ask me or contact Ciara directly on her facebook page Divine Eyes, White Smiles and she will be happy to help.
I'd like to say a huge thank you to Ciara for asking me to review the lashes and I'm so looking forward to having them reapplied in the new year!

Sheinside

IMG_4565

Lets face it, we all love a bargain! Especially when we get a quality garment for a really affordable price! I was super excited to be asked to collaborate with online fashion retailer "Sheinside" and to get the chance to pick this cute little smock dress/top.
There is something really old fashioned about this piece but that is why it caught my attention. Unfortunately it was just a little too short for me to wear as a dress so I added some black leggings but I think it could be perfect either way.
Due to the detail on the dress itself, I kept the accessories to a minimum adding only earrings and a pair of leopard print pumps, both from River Island.
If you would like to spruce up your wardrobe for the new year at really affordable prices - check out sheinside.com - its definitely worth a look!

Exhibit Look 2

IMG_4132

Who said crop-tops have to be confined to Summer? All you have to do is find one in a heavier fabric, pick a skirt to match, add tights and you have your perfect recipe for a chic winter outfit.
I absolutely loved this two piece from Exhibit - its dressy without being OTT and would be great dressed up for a few Christmas drinks or dressed down with flats and a fur gilet for a bit of stylish shopping.
Exhibit is an ideal shop for ladies like me who like to constantly rotate their wardrobe, their clothing and accessories are so affordable - this top for example is just £13, as is the skirt.
I paired the look with my boots from Primark and kept the accessories to a minimum to show that you definitely do not need to buy designer to look stylish - style is what you make it, be it Exhibit or Escada, Primark or Prada!

The Christmas Shirt Company

IMG_3985

The festive season is well and truly upon us and this year the trend of Christmas t-shirts and jumpers is bigger and bolder than ever. This idea is one that has been growing in popularity over the past number of years and there is not a staff night out or family get together that won't include a bit of christmas cheer. It is the perfect time to relax, let go of our usual dilemmas over what to wear and go out in complete comfort.
This year I wanted to find something really different and steer away from the usual jumpers that everyone would have so I was really delighted to be contacted by "The Christmas Shirt Company" and given the chance to choose from their funky collection of decorated shirts.
I am a huge lover of shirts so I was really excited to give this one a go. I wear a UK size 10 but I went for a Men's size 'medium' as I always love to wear my shirts bigger, either pulled in with a belt or tucked into a skirt.
I brought out the red tones in the shirt with a splash of "lady danger" lipstick by MAC cosmetics and added a bit of Christmas bling with earrings from the Anna Dello Russo Collection for H&M.
This shirt is definitely a break from the norm and a quirky way to be unique on your christmas night out so if you are interested in picking one up for yourself, check out their website - http://www.christmasshirts.com.
