Radio One's Big Weekened - Day 3

P1020457

So as Festival Season is still well and truly underway, I thought I would share with you, some pictures from the final day at Radio One's Big Weekend.
Watching the television coverage of Glastonbury has got me filled with nostalgia for the amazing weekend I had in Derry/Londonderry, City of Culture 2013 watching some of the top bands and performers from all over the world.
The final day was one of the best, with acts such as Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Paramore, The Script, Labrinth, Olly Murs and the main headliner Mr Bruno Mars.
I was blown away by the sheer talent of each and every act, which was even more exciting as it was all taking place in a city so close to where I live.
For the third and final day I had planned to wear a summery maxi-dress but due to the experience I had on the previous day with the rain, I had to go for a last minute costume change. I decided on this floaty "tie-dye" tunic from All Saints and matched it with a fringed suede jacket and an over-sized floppy hat which I got on sale in Topshop.
I also made sure to pack one very important accessory...
An Umbrella!

The Dublin Lingerie Company

IMG_7443

Like all Women, I absolutely love lingerie. No matter what you are wearing, if you have nice lingerie on it always makes your outfit feel that little bit more special.
You can imagine how delighted I was to hear from the fabulous "Dublin Lingerie Company" and get the choice of one of their stunning underwear sets.
I chose the Triumph Amourette 300 bra and pants in white. I just loved their simplicity with delicate lace and crisp silk design.
Although I was not going to model this beautiful set for you, I can assure you that the fit and shape of this gorgeous two piece is absolute perfection. I have great difficulty finding the ideal shape for my body but I was so pleasantly surprised. The bra has just a hint of padding which is perfect to add that added "oomph" to any look.
'The Dublin Lingerie Company" specialise in all types of underwear, particularly for ladies with larger bust sizes. So if you are on the lookout for a beautiful lingerie set for yourself or a gift for that special someone, make sure you check out their website - http://www.thedublinlingeriecompany.ie for all your luxurious needs!
Your body will thank you for it!

IMG_7441

The countdown is on 'til I jet of on my holidays to Lanzarote next week so I have been thinking a lot about what I am going to pack in my suitcase!
I have such a hard time deciding what clothes to take. How can I squeeze my entire wardrobe into one suitcase?
But one thing I am always very sure of is my Holiday Essentials beauty kit.
There are certain items and products that I would not leave the country without so I decided to share them with you to maybe help you with packing for your own holiday.
Let me know if you have any essentials of your own that I have missed out on!

Summer Cocktails

IMG_7377

As Summer is well and truly here, our minds are wandering towards beautiful sunshine and sipping cocktails by the beach.
I wouldn't be much of a drinker, in fact I didn't drink at all until very recently when the allure of champagne and sweet cocktails became more than a little tempting.
There are some fab cocktail bars quite close to where I live and I love nothing more than gathering a group of friends together, getting glammed up and hitting the town to try out a few of their specialities.
Its hard to pick my favourite cocktails but I have narrowed it down to my top 5 choices which are the perfect accessory to help you cool down on a hot Summer's evening:

1- Blossom's Breeze
"A refreshing twist on a very classic cocktail, the Sea Breeze"
(Check out the recipe here)
2 - Cosmopolitan
A sharp blend of Vodka, Triple Sec, Cranberry Juice and Lime Juice ala "Sex and the City"
(Check out the recipe here)
3 - Frozen Strawberry Daiquiri:
A popular blended strawberry and rum drink
(Check out the recipe here)
4 - Porn Star Martini:
Passion Fruit Martini with half of a Passionfruit laced in powdered sugar floating on top, served with a tall shooter of Champagne.
(Check out the recipe here)
5 - Mojito
An explosive combination of fresh mint leaves, lime juice, rum, powdered sugar and club soda
(Check out the recipe here)

I have to admit I am a girl who loves to chill out and have my drink made up for me by the talented bar staff, however, I think it would be so much fun to have the girls around for an evening and attempt to make some of our favourite cocktails or experiment to create our very own recipes.
I came across this video on "how to make the perfect cocktail" which details some amazing tips and tricks to help create your favourite tipple! Well worth a watch!
Are any of you brave enough to try it out for yourself? Or maybe you have some more favourite cocktails of your own? Let me know!

Make A Statement

IMG_6189

There is nothing I like better than dressing up a plain outfit with a piece of statement jewellery.
I got this black body con dress from River Island and it was the perfect comfortable yet chic look for a day's shopping during a recent trip to London. However, for me it looked a little plain so I decided to shake it up a bit with this eye-catching "Cross" necklace from Boudoir Boutique.
I customised the converse trainers myself with some diamante and spikes and I finished the look with my black Prada "gauffre" bag and Ray-Ban "wayfarer" sunglasses.

BT Chairman's Awards

P1020734

Last weekend my Boyfriend and I travelled to London to attend the BT Chairman's awards for which he was a finalist.
It was a very exciting trip as not only was it a huge achievement for him to be chosen as a finalist but the award ceremony was taking place in the BT Tower, one of the tallest buildings in Europe.
On arrival we were given the opportunity to mingle with the other finalists and BT Executives over morning coffee and were then shown into the auditorium for the awards ceremony to begin.
There were ten categories in total and for each we watched a short video describing why the finalists had been chosen and outlining the amazing work they had done! Every one of them was very heart felt and incredibly emotional featuring interviews from the people who had been helped by the voluntary work of each of the finalists. The comedy moment of the afternoon came when they got to my Boyfriends video. He had been chosen for his volunteer work teaching the elderly how to use computers and the internet and when it flicked to one of the ladies he had been helping, rather than talking about his teaching skills, she commented on his good looks! Needless to say I was beaming with pride, if not a little concerned about my new competition! :)
I am delighted to say that he came second in his category, an excellent achievement considering he was the youngest finalist and the only one from Northern Ireland!
For the event the dress code was business wear... so as fashion is my business and I never quite follow the rules, I decided against the perceived image of a black business suit and went for a colourful summer dress instead. I matched it with tiger print wedges from Zara and I had a giggle when a top exec from BT commented that if there was an award for best shoes I would have won!
Unfortunately I just had the use of a small camera and an Iphone on the day so the image quality might not be perfect but you will get the chance to share in what was an absolutely amazing afternoon.
I would like to say a huge congrats to my Boyfriend on his incredible achievement and thank you to all at BT for a fantastic weekend!
