Louis Vuitton Spring/Summer 2013 Preview

Whilst most of you were wining and dining with loved ones this Valentines Day, I had a date with the Louis Vuitton Spring/Summer'13 collection at the Merrion Hotel in Dublin.

As usual this collection fulfilled every expectation with a little something to suit every taste. 

From quirky checker board prints to fun and flirty florals with some classic designs thrown in for good measure, I was in absolute fashion heaven as I perused each luxurious item.

My favourites had to be the Ikat floral range, particularly the newly designed "Noé-ful" handbag in cerise pink, a cross between the Neverfull and the Noé. I also adored the "Damier Optic Culr GM" which is my Must-Have bag from the collection!

There was plenty on offer for the Man in your life with strong and classic work accessories, statement travel cases and perhaps the most eye-catching of all, the neon accessories, perfect for the summer sunshine! 

This year the Louis Vuitton catwalk show was simply incredible. I thought nothing could top the Autumn/Winter steam train extravaganza until I tuned into the spectacular moving escalator experience of Spring/Summer. I watched in awe as every new piece appeared and it was an honour to get an up close and personal look at some of these showstoppers this week.

I would like to say a huge thank you to Anna Reiter, Tom Meggle and to all at Louis Vuitton for once again inviting me to be a part of this amazing event.

Petit Noé

"The Noé"

The Noé is the second oldest Louis Vuitton, iconic daily handbag. First created in 1932 it has been a staple piece within the brand, yet every season gives this stunning bag a new lease of life.

Originally designed to carry champagne bottles this bag began its life in luxury and has continued on the same path ever since.

The Noé bag and the Petit Noé can be found in a "myriad of incarnations from Damier Azur to colourful Epi Leather - each time different yet still, somehow, the same"

The season there is a new kid on the block in the shape of the Noé BB, "irresistibly cute, unmistakeably contemporary" with its new, extra long shoulder strap, it is the ideal bag for the modern woman.

"Damier Print"

This season the materials were different, using thousands of the tiniest sequins to create a metallic effect, using techniques such as "tuffetage" the leather goods were transformed into a whole new medium with stunning result.

This is one of the first seasons where the monogram did not take precedent! Spring/Summer'13 is all about the Damier print which took on a whole new lease of life in oversized checker board prints and stronger, brighter colours. A collection for any fashionista willing to make a statement and stand out from the crowd.
