Wedding by the Water

IMG_9819
Recently I had the pleasure of attending the wedding of Amy Creswell, my boyfriends sister, to her fiancé Gareth Lavery.
The wedding took place in the majestical surroundings of "The Watermill Hotel" in Lisnaskea, Northern Ireland which is situated right beside Lough Erne, with stunning views from every angle.
We travelled to the venue the evening before the wedding where we had a beautiful dinner and stayed in quaint little chalets right by the waters edge.
On the morning of the wedding the sun was shining and the weather was simply beautiful, perfect to enjoy the picturesque location.
As the bride was busy getting ready, she was completely unaware of the surprise that awaited her. Thanks to the unexpected appearance of the sun, the wedding venue was changed to an outdoor setting with a breathtaking view of the lake and surroundings filled with the last flowers of summer.
As Gareth patiently awaited the arrival of his bride to be, the soft music of a harp wafted in the breeze and when Amy appeared there wasn't a dry eye in sight.
Her dress was absolutely beautiful, so classic, so chic and she looked every inch the fairytale princess that every girls dreams to be on their wedding day!
After a lovely ceremony, the wedding party, which consisted of two beautiful bridesmaids glowing in royal blue and a rather dapper looking set of groomsmen made their way through the scenery to have their photographs taken on the banks of the lake.
When I attend a wedding I always struggle with what to wear so I cannot imagine what I will be like if I am ever to tie the knot myself. Bridezilla would not have a look in!
I like to wear something to suit the style and setting of the day, so what better for this flower filled occasion than a brightly coloured Vintage beaded dress with a floral print on the side?
Instead of opting for a hat to match, I decided on two corsages which I joined  together and made into a head piece for the day.
I would like to thank the newlyweds Amy and Gareth Lavery for inviting me to be a part of their wonderful wedding day and wish them a long and happy future together!
Enjoy

Belfast Fashion Week A/W12 - Style Sunday

IMG_2321

On Sunday past I attended the finale of West Coast Cooler FASHIONWEEK in Belfast which took place in the shape of "Style Sunday" at the beautiful James Street South restaurant.
This event is an opportunity for fashion enthusiasts to gather with friends for a wonderful dinner and enjoy an up close and personal look at some stunning designs.
This season we got to see the fabulous creations of emerging designer Stephen Mageean.
I got my first glimpse of Stephen's fashion line at the NI Designer Show and was blown away!
His revelations looked like something we would see from a long time established designer as opposed to a debut collection.
We dined on four lavish courses, each one more mouthwatering than the last and in between each one we were treated to another stunning display of bespoke creations.
My favourite items had to be the luxurious tweed jacket which would not have been out of place on a Chanel runway and the incredibly elegant backless evening gowns.
What made the event even more personal was the fact that Stephen himself talked us through each of his designs, he explained his creative process and his artistic concepts as well as describing how we can get our hands on these beauties.
We also got to hear from the Make Up artist Paddy McGurgan, the hair stylist from the infamous "Andrew Mulvenna Hair" and a representative from Benefit Cosmetics, each of which revealed their techniques and tips used within the show for us to try ourselves at home.
For this event, surprise surprise, I chose another vintage beaded dress from Boudoir Boutique NI.
As you can probably guess by now, this store is one of my favourite Northern Irish boutiques and I absolutely love the element of being unique that comes with the Vintage Fashion that they stock.
I loved the fact that this dress toys with the concept of the "LBD" but has a playful side with the colourful sequins and beading. I matched it with my Louis Vuitton "Multicolore" speedy handbag and a beautiful pair of emerald coloured earrings from the Anna Dello Russo for H&M collection.
You may also have noticed a slight difference in my hair colour in my last two posts. I decided I needed a little change so I went for a chocolate brown with a hint of plum throughout!
Hope you like!
