The Peace Bridge

In 2011 a bridge nicknamed "The Peace Bridge" was built in Derry/Londonderry. This was to symbolise the joining of two communities and a continuous hope for peace in a city that was once rocked by the Troubles in Northern Ireland.
Setting aside the politics associated with this historical piece of architecture, it is one of the most spectacular constructions I have laid eyes on and a beautiful setting for a walk across the water.
By day the bridge itself and the lapping water below are breathtaking enough, but by night, the bridge comes alive with an array of coloured lights and the stunning City Skyline gracing the background.
The photos I have chosen to share with you are from a dark winters evening stroll along the bridge with a quick stop at some deserted buildings which drew my attention along the way.
Although taken on my old camera and a bit unclear, I love the grunge effect of the lighting in this photo shoot. I hope you enjoy and that someday you will get a chance to see this amazing bridge for yourselves.

Costume Couture

As a drama teacher and a lover of all things couture, when it comes to dressing up in costumes, I am in my element! I adore acting, performing, teaching, directing, presenting... anything that puts myself or my students in the limelight and I treat my style in the exact same way.
I always like my outfits to be audience worthy, even if no-one shall ever see them but the mirror.
I take every opportunity to get dressed up in costume as it gives me the chance to push fashion boundaries to the limits and wear clothing, make-up and styles that I could never and would never carry off in everyday life!
Here is a short selection of a few of my favourite costumes over the last few years!
You may not even recognize me in some of the pictures!

Geek Chic

On this particular day, over the Christmas holidays, I went for a much more fun outfit choice than usual.
When I'm dressing casual I still like to give my outfits a certain edge.
For this one I went for Rock Chick with my leather look leggings, Studded boots and Tartan Blazer and mixed it up with a little bit of "Geek Chic" by wearing a pair of oversized glasses.
The playful pictures, festive colours and Christmas decorations fill me with nostalgia for the wonderful Christmas I had in 2011!
So embrace your inner geek and let me know what you think of the pics!

Kurt Geiger - The Big Reveal

Sorry to keep you guys in suspense but finally here is the big reveal of which shoes I chose from the Kurt Geiger Store in Belfast. (Click on the last post "City and Seaside" to see both pairs).
I am in love with anything studded or spiked and my heels can never be too high. Therefore when I saw these shoes I knew I had to have them. It was a tough decision as the other pair were orange, my favourite colour. However, for once in my life I made the practical decision and went for the pair that I would get more wear out of. Cream goes with almost everything and the blue and green colour block with the spiked heel give them just enough edge to stand out from the crowd.
That evening, when I returned home from Belfast, I had the perfect opportunity to wear my new babies as a friend of mine had opened an amazing new hairdressing salon "Tara Henderson International" and was having a huge Launch party!
Below are some pics of my outfit choice, including a beaded skirt from Jack Wills and a Tuxedo Jacket from Identity, Buncrana! Thrown in for a bit of mis-match to complete the outfit is my
"Monogramouflage" Speedy from Louis Vuitton!
I hope you agree with my choice, although I will not promise that I will be disciplined enough to resist the Orange pair for very long! Watch this space!

City and Seaside

On the last day of our Anniversary trip to belfast, My Boyfriend and I had a very lazy day of shopping and sightseeing. We explored little areas of Belfast that were off the beaten track and found some amazing grafitti and quaint little alleyways that reminded me of something from a film. Of course I had to get posing!
For the casual day I chose to wear my Austrailia Luxe Studded boots, a Leopard Print Dress and Cape from Topshop and a little bit of Louis Vuitton.
Whilst shopping in Victoria Square, one of my favourite shopping centres, (as seen here) my attention was drawn to the Kurt Geiger store. In the window were two of the most gorgeous pairs of shoes that I had seen for a while! Both were studded court shoes, one in bright orange and one in colour block cream, blue and green. I just could not decide which pair to go for and had everyone in the shop helping with my decision. I have included pictures for you below and I will leave you to guess which pair I went for until my next post.
We finished the day by going to see the beautiful sites of Carrickfergus. I just love the seaside and after being in the city for a while it is great to go and breathe some fresh sea air and of course take some snapshots! Hope you enjoy!

Anniversary Dinner

On Saturday evening past, after the amazing day I had with my boyfriend to celebrate one year of being together, (as seen here,) we got ourselves glammed up to go for a special dinner to Zen Restaurant, Belfast.
Zen is a traditional Japanese restaurant with an amazing atmosphere and beautiful surroundings, situated in the heart of Belfast City Centre. We dined on Sushi, Duck Samosa, Chicken Satay sticks, Beef and Asparagus rolls and to finish, a slightly more Irish dessert of Vanilla Ice-cream. I usually wouldn't be able to manage four courses but the food was so good I just couldn't stop.
For the evening celebration I chose to wear a gorgeous lace and feather dress from McBerry which my boyfriend had bought for me for Christmas. (He has very good taste!)
I wanted to save the dress for the perfect special occasion and what could be better than celebrating our first year together.
I teamed the outfit with my Chloe "baby" Paddington bag which is an old favourite of mine, Silver diamante platforms and my beautiful heart shaped necklace which I had received earlier that day as an anniversary present.
Here for you is a selection of photographs from the evening taken at the fab Fitzwilliam Hotel before dinner and in Zen. I hope you enjoy sharing the special evening with me!
