Fashion Forum's Spring/Summer Workshop

After meeting the fabulous Marissa and Anne from Fashion Forum at the Fashion, Beauty and Lifestyle show, I was delighted to be invited by them to attend their Spring/Summer 2012 fashion workshop. I was even more excited that I had been asked to take part in the "makeover" section, or as they liked to put it, for me, "a make-under."

My friends and I had a wonderful stay at the beautiful Ramada Hotel in Shawsbridge, Belfast where the event was taking place. The hotel was stunning, set among beautiful gardens only 5 minutes from the city centre. 

After breakfast, I made my way down to the function room where I was immediately whisked away to preview my new look. Marissa and Anne had planned a look for me which they knew I had never tried before. I was delighted with it as I love trying new things. 

They went for the 1940's military pin-up look. A style that I would never have been brave enough to try on my own but that I fell in love with and cannot wait to repeat.

My hair was styled by the talented Caroline from Cherry on Top. I couldn't believe how quickly and effortlessly she transformed my straight, thick hair into the vintage curls and rolls. It was amazing.

I then moved over to Dana from Glass Dolls who worked wonders on my make-up transporting my look from 2012 to the World War 2 era. I even had the beauty spot to complete the pin-up-esque look!

I then made my way to the dressing room to complete the transformation with two stunning vintage style dresses from Pretty Pin-Up in Downpatrick.

Finally the look was complete and I felt a million dollars.

On the day there were also two lucky winners of a make-over competition who had been nominated by somebody close to them for a day of pampering. They were Julie Bell and the inspiring Tracy Orriss who both looked simply stunning and were glowing with confidence after their amazing makeovers.

I had a truly enjoyable day at the Fashion Forum event and would recommend it to any lady looking for a day to be pampered, learn about styling and browse stands from wonderful stores all over Northern Ireland. Thank you Marissa and Anne for a fabulous day and such an amazing makeover.
